Bridget Campbell

Bridget has been Director of Environment and Forestry since March 2015.

Responsibilities

The Director of Environment and Forestry is responsible for policies to protect and enhance nature and the environment in Scotland including landscapes, biodiversity and the quality of its water, soil and air. 

This covers resources and waste management, flood prevention and funding of environmental scientific research and statistical advice.  

Bridget also oversees the work of the Scottish Government’s executive agencies Scottish Forestry and Forestry and Land Scotland.

The directorate sponsors public bodies including Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Scottish Natural Heritage, Zero Waste Scotland, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, the Cairngorms National Park Authority and Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority.

Bridget was appointed Director of Environment and Forestry in March 2015.
