Marine Research Vessels Group

The aim of the Marine Research Vessels Group is to ensure that the UK marine science fleet is used as efficiently and effectively as possible. This includes assessing and co-ordinating the fleet capabilities and capacity, as well as investigating the potential for new technologies, the exchange of ship programme information and joint procurement.

There are currently seven marine research vessels of over 50 metres in length which are owned and/or operated by the individual members of the Marine Science Co-ordination Committee (MSCC):
