Fully automated RNA/DNA nucleic acid extraction
Fully automated nucleic acid purification from a wide range of starting materials including tissue, cells and supernatant. High-quality nucleic acids are available for use in a number of downstream applications such as QPCR, RT-QPCR and Sequencing.
- BioRobot M48 - Up to 48 samples can be processed per run in batches of 6 samples. The Qiagen BioRobot M48 is designed for magnetic particle based sample preparation.
- Qiasymphony SP - Up to 96 samples can be processed at any one time with the ability for continuous sample loading for high throughput analysis. Barcode reading for sample traceability. The Qiasymphony utilises magnetic-bead technology.
Taqman probe assays are used to increase specificity. The laboratory has two Roche Lightcycler® 480’s and one Roche® 96 plate based PCR platforms for gene detection and gene expression analysis.
Fully automated DNA Sequencing
The Beckman CEQ 8800 Genetic Analysis System, is fully automated and can process two 96-well plates of samples offering a high level of throughput.
