Comparison with UK GDP figures

The latest figures show that comparable GDP data for the UK as a whole, at constant basic prices, fell by 0.4 per cent during the second quarter of 2012, following a fall of 0.3 per cent in the previous quarter.

On an annual basis, comparing output in the latest four quarters to the previous four quarters (4Q-on-4Q), UK GDP grew by 0.4 per cent.

In the second quarter of 2012, the UK Services sector fell by 0.1 per cent, output in the Production sector fell by 0.7 per cent, and Construction output fell by 3.0 per cent.



On an annual basis (4Q-on-4Q), the UK experienced growth of 1.2 per cent in Services, a fall of 2.4 per cent in Production, and a fall of 3.2 per cent in Construction.
