Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics: This database provides figures on Scotland's local areas for local authorities, health board, Scottish parliamentary constituency, wards, and data zones. It provides information on health, education, poverty, unemployment, housing, population, crime and social / community issues. The present site (Phase II of the project) was launched in June 2004 and includes significant enhancements over the previous site. It is proposed to update the site quarterly in January, April, July and October.
Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics Data Zones Background Information: This report sets out background information on the development and use of data zones and answers the questions which arose during the final phase of consultation with local authorities.
Social Justice Annual Report 2003 - Indicators of Progress: This technical report provides an impartial assessment of progress against the Social Justice milestones.
Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2004: Summary Technical Report: Provides users with a clear overview of the methodology used to develop the Index. An Interactive Map and associated Background Data supplement the summary technical report. More detailed information on the construction of the underlying indicators and the technical methodology used to develop the SIMD 2004 can be found in the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2004: Technical Report.
Long term strategy for measuring deprivation in Scotland: This is a copy of the final report produced in August 2003, by the Scottish Centre for Research on Social Justice (SCRSJ). The Scottish Executive response to this document has also been published. An interim report by the SCRSJ was published in May 2003.

Disability: A compendium publication exploring the characteristics and position of disabled people in Scotland.
Deprived Areas: A compendium of statistics providing detailed information on the depth and concentration of poverty and disadvantage in deprived areas as defined by the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2004 (SIMD 2004)
Benefits and Tax Credits in Scotland: This Statistical publication provides summary information on benefit recipients in Scotland across a range of benefits and tax credits.
Households Below Average Income: This report is produced by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It contains figures for GB and includes a regional breakdown.
Family Resource Survey: This survey which is carried out by DWP, collects information on the incomes and circumstances of private households in Great Britain and includes a regional breakdown.
Individual income of men and women: This report produced by the Women & Equality Unit of the DTI. Covers GB and contains a regional breakdown.
