Additional Support Needs

The Scottish Government and its partners in the Further and Higher education sector in Scotland recognise their responsibilities to support disabled students to participate fully in the academic and social aspects available to them while studying at Scotland's colleges and universities. Information relating to the separate funding support arrangements available to Further and Higher education students is available on the indicated links.

Through the Disabled Students Advisory Group (DSAG) the Scottish Government liaises with a wide range of stakeholders on issues regarding both financial and practical support for students with additional support needs.

Also, the Scottish Government's Partnership Matters framework provides guidance and advice, including case studies, on the roles and responsibilities of those involved in the decision making process for supporting those students who may require a multi-agency approach to their additional support needs while in Further or Higher education.
