About the schemes

Home Energy Efficiency Programmes contribute to meeting the Scottish Government's challenging emissions reductions targets as well as increasing the take-up of domestic energy efficiency measures while helping to tackle fuel poverty.

Heating your Home

Everyone should have a warm home. But in a time of high utility costs that can be expensive.

Through their Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland (HEEPS) the Scottish Government offers a range of schemes to support those likely to have difficulty paying their fuel bills or keeping their home warm.  These are helping to increase the take-up of home energy efficiency measures and reduce fuel poverty while also helping us reach our emission reduction targets.

The Energy Saving Trust, in partnership with a range of advice providers, local authorities and energy companies, manages these schemes on our behalf.  They do this through Home Energy Scotland (HES).

Home Energy Scotland is a free, impartial and confidential advice service backed by the Scottish Government to help homeowners have a warmer home and lower fuel bills.  Advisors there will provide you with free and expert advice on how to save energy and money in the home, offer you a benefits check to ensure you are in receipt of any benefits you may be entitled to and also talk you through any energy efficiency schemes you may be eligible for.  Contact HES by calling the free hotline on 0808 808 2282.
