Covid-19 Construction guidance: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

“The SG published guidance for the construction sector immediately after lockdown on 23 March.
That guidance included a provision that construction projects that could be completed within 5 days could be completed whilst other sites should close.
After 6th April this guidance was superseded but we need this guidance. Reference and a copy of it.
Please can you provide a copy of the initial construction guidance issued including the guidance that projects which could be completed in 5 days could continue ? Not accessible via the web site any more.”

Response

To clarify, the first version of the construction guidance was published on 6 April. The statement ‘Exceptionally, if sites can be safely completed within 5 working days they can be completed.’ was removed from the refreshed guidance published on 1 May as it was no longer relevant.
This guidance was a development from the Coronavirus (COVID-19): business and social distancing guidance first published on 25 March, as updated on 4 April. The published construction guidance PDF can be found in Annex A of this letter.
