FOI reference: FOI/18/03296
Date received: 7 November 2018
Date responded: 7 November 2018

Information requested

You asked for the following through freedom of information legislation:

Please provide copies of all correspondence between Scottish ministers (or their staff/offices), and the companies which run car parks at Ninewells Hospitals, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary through PFI contracts, on the topic of freezing or scrapping parking fees at these facilities, over the last five years to date. This should include any responses received from the companies.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the costs of locating, retrieving and providing all the information requested would exceed the upper cost limit of £600.

This is due to your requests requiring us to retrieve correspondence relating to multiple contractors over an extended period, 5 years.  Under section 12 of FOISA public authorities are not required to comply with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of complying would exceed the upper cost limit, which is currently set at £600 by Regulations made under section 12.

However, in an effort to provide reasonable assistance to your enquiry, please find enclosed the most recent correspondence that has been issued by the Scottish Government in relation to one of the car parks specified in yur request.
