Information requested
What communications were there between the Health Secretary and/or the Scottish Government and local representatives Mhairi Black MP, George Adam MSP and Tom Arthur MSP in relation to ward 15 of Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley since September 2015? Please provide a copy of all correspondence, and details of what action was taken following these communications, and minutes or records of meetings.
Response
A letter from Mhairi Black MP, raising concerns around the consultation exercise for Ward 15, the Royal Alexandria Hospital and seeking to organise a meeting with the Cabinet Secretary for Health & Sport with local healthcare campaigners;
an email from Mhairi Black MP, offering potential dates for a meeting with healthcare campaigners;
a copy of the Cabinet Secretary's response for a meeting with healthcare campaigners;
a letter from Tom Arthur MSP, to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport raising an issue on behalf of a constituent regarding Ward 15 of the Royal Alexandria Hospital;
a copy of the Cabinet Secretary's response to Tom Arthur MSP; and
correspondence between George Adam MSP and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which the Cabinet Secretary has been copied in to.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance a limited amount of information has been withheld because of exemptions under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA apply to that information. The reasons why those exemptions apply are explained below.
Reasons for not providing information
An exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to some of the information because it is the personal data of third parties, i.e. names and contact details, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 1998.
