Reminder: To continue the Clyde cod seasonal spawning closure the Sea Fish (Prohibition of Fishing) (Firth of Clyde) (No.2) Order 2022 will come into effect again from 14 February until 30 April 2023.

5.25 Red Rocks and Longay MPA Inner Sound amended condition

 

5.25.1 A fishing vessel must not be present in the Area defined in SSI 372/2022 other than when travelling at a speed of greater than six knots (except in the case of force majeure or adverse weather conditions or fishing for pelagic species with trawl or encircling net or engaged in the removal of king

scallops and queen scallops by hand).

 

5.25.2 In the case of any of the above contact must immediately be made with the UKFMC and details giving of the vessel’s intentions. Details and documentation in respect of this restriction can be found at https://www.gov.scot/publications/marine-protected-areas-public-notifications/
