Disability and Carers Benefits Expert Advisory Group - informal observations: advice

Letter from Disability and Carers Benefits Expert Advisory Group to Shirley-Anne Somerville, Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People.

The Group meets quarterly to discuss disability and carer benefit policy and develop advice to Ministers. They also sometimes form subgroups or workstreams that meet more regularly.

These conversations are focused by questions posed by Ministers as well as issues the Group feel need to be highlighted to help the Scottish Government develop benefits policy that meets Scotland’s needs.

Advice is then prepared and submitted to Ministers, who in turn respond to the Group with their thoughts on the advice.

Note that the information contained in this correspondence was correct at the time, but may have changed as policy develops.
