Thank you for your interest in helping the NHS response to COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic has put huge demand on the social service workforce. Your support will make more of a difference than ever before. We’re asking for your help to fight COVID-19.

If you were previously registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), you will be contacted asking if you’d like to come back to work in social care for the duration of the current pandemic. The SSSC has set up a temporary social worker register and will contact those eligible to apply.

There are also career opportunities in social services if you're looking for a change of direction and a job that makes a real difference. People are needed now to fill vacancies caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

You can work in social services without having to register with the SSSC for up to 12 months. Employers will provide training and support to develop your skills.

If you want to return to work or are looking for a role in social care, please register your interest using the national portal.
