Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) reference group

Overview

The Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) reference group is a national group which coordinates implementation of Scotland’s Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Strategy 2021.

The reference group convenes twice a year and aims to improve the outcomes after a cardiac arrest event by promoting Scotland-wide collaboration, peer support and dissemination of best practice. 

The remit of the reference group is to:

  • coordinate and evaluate the national implementation of the aims of the OHCA strategy
  • oversee the development of national OHCA strategy
  • provide expert advice to the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates

Members

The OHCA reference group is chaired by Professor Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director, Scottish Government. The group includes representation from clinicians, the third sector and the emergency services.
