Introduction

The Scottish Crime Recording Board has been set up to support the production of accurate and objective statistics on crime in Scotland.

Annual National Statistics

These bulletins provide information on the number of crimes and offences recorded by the police in Scotland for the year ending March, detailed commentary on the recording of crimes and offences, including data for the most recent ten year period and further time series analysis over the longer term (back to 1971). They also include official statistics on clear-up rates. 

Quarterly National Statistics

These bulletins present information on the number of crimes and offences recorded by the police in Scotland for the most recent rolling 12 month period (year ending June, September and December). It also includes a comparison with the equivalent four previous years.
