The Scottish Government is responsible for licensing certain activities under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010 and the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 in Scottish waters. This includes licensing of marine renewable developments. The layers below show the location of the agreements for lease issued by The Crown Estate for marine renewables, and summaries of the application process applied to the regulation of the development of marine renewable projects. The summaries also include links to the correspondence between developers and the regulator issued during the progression of each renewable project.
These new layers enable marine renewable projects to be viewed in a spatial context which will help maintain consistency in the regulatory process, increase transparency of project management and identify potential interactions with other developments, natural resources and other legitimate users of the marine environment.
