Dive Operations

A number of potential applicants for the electrofishing for razor clams trial contacted us regarding Section 6, Part C, and Condition 6.2 in Annex D of the application pack. Some considered that they could propose a safe system of work whereby a diver follows electrofishing gear which is switched on.

This is to confirm that Marine Scotland, with advice from HSE, will consider applications made on such grounds. Such applications should clearly set out in Section 6 of the application form any relevant safety parameters and details of how the dive contractor will ensure that a diver remains a safe distance from the electrodes.

Any queries should be addressed to AccesstoSeaFisheries@gov.scot.
