On 8th December 2016, the Scottish Government published a new Concordat on UK Fisheries Management. The Government also issued a letter about the new Concordat. It is expected that this new Concordat will come into effect during 2017.
This new agreement makes improvements to the 2012 Concordat on Fisheries Management.
The UK Concordat on Fisheries Management is an agreement between the UK Administrations that sets out a number of arrangements for UK fisheries management, including which UK fishing vessels each Administration will license and how UK quotas are allocated to the four UK countries.
