For the fourth year running, Scotland House in Brussels hosted the UK Aquaculture Forum. The Forum, which brings together Government from across the UK and industry representatives met on the 5th and 6th November 2013 to hear presentations from the Commission, Marine Scotland and DEFRA on topics including:
- Trade barriers
- The Review of the Balance of Compentencies
- Opportunities for Aquaculture beyond the Common Fisheries Policy
In the evening the Forum held a reception and guests included Lowri Evans, Director General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in the European Commission. An array of Scottish seafood was showcased at the reception and Scott Landsburgh, CEO of the Scottish Salmon Producers' Organisation gave an insightful talk about the success of Scottish Farmed Salmon which has become Scotland's number one food export.
