The current LEADER programme ended in 2013 and work is being taken forward to develop the next programme, which will run from 2014 to 2020. New information is now available here on the LEADER approach.
A LEADER Working Group involving a wide range of key stakeholders and officials was established in 2012 to assess the strengths of the current LEADER Programme and make recommendations for the next programme. The final report by the Working Group was published in August 2012.
The main focus of the Scottish LEADER Conference on 22 November 2012 was the future direction of LEADER in Scotland. It was attended by around 120 delegates from all the Scottish LEADER Local Action Groups as well as representatives from organisations with an interest in rural development. A report from the LEADER conference is available on the Scotland Rural Network website.
