Scottish Rural Parliament

The first Scottish Rural Parliament took place in Oban in November 2014. The second Rural Parliament is scheduled for 2016 in Brechin.

Scottish Government responds to the asks of the Rural Parliament:

The Scottish Government has considered the five asks made of it by Scotland’s first Rural Parliament, Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead has confirmed.

The requests are part of the Scottish Rural Parliament Action Plan, which sets out priority issues and solutions identified by rural communities themselves. The delivery of the action plan is being supported by £200,000 of Scottish Government funding.

The Scottish Government has today published a detailed response to those asks - available in the document below.
