Crime/Offence Reference Number

DEFINITION:This number is charge orientated and is the unique reference number issued by the reporting agency which relates to a particular charge or charges contained within a report to the Procurator Fiscal.
DATA ITEMS:Crime/Offence Number
PERMISSIBLE CHARACTER SET:Upper-case alpha, oblique and numeric.
RANGES/VALUES:The field is 13 characters long and consists of 4 elements as follows:-

The first 3 characters identify the agency, next 6 relate to the agencies internal sequential identifier, next 2 numbers are the month and the last 2 numbers are the year.

Other agency's will be issued an identifier by SCJS.
