openSIMD makes the code used to calculate SIMD available to anyone who wants to understand exactly how SIMD indicators are combined, or replicate the method for similar measures.
So far, SIMDs have been calculated using the statistical package SAS. Through the openSIMD project, we have translated the calculation steps into R.
