SIMD16 logoopenSIMD makes the code used to calculate SIMD available to anyone who wants to understand exactly how SIMD indicators are combined, or replicate the method for similar measures.

So far, SIMDs have been calculated using the statistical package SAS. Through the openSIMD project, we have translated the calculation steps into R.

The move from SAS to R through the openSIMD project was made possible by a collaboration between The Data Lab and The Scottish Government - read about the project in our blog: openSIMD blog

The compressed folder below contains everything needed: the R code, documentation, and data.
