Scottish Survey of Achievement
Description - The Scottish Survey of Achievement (SSA) was a sample survey of pupils' attainment in Scottish primary and secondary schools carried out annually from 2005 until 2009. It monitored how well pupils in Scotland were learning and focussed on a different aspect of the school curriculum each year. The 2009 survey was the final time that the SSA was carried out as it was designed to reflect learning and teaching under the 5-14 curriculum.
The SSA was replaced with the Scottish Survey of Literacy and Numeracy (SSLN), which was designed to support assessment approaches under Curriculum for Excellence. For more information on SSLN, please see www.gov.scot/ssln:
