Long-term trends in Employment, Unemployment and Inactivity for Scotland and the UK, Mar-May 1992 to Jul-Sept 2017

These charts show the long-term trends for Scotland and the UK in terms of the headline labour market indicators: employment, unemployment and inactivity.  Scottish data is slightly more variable than the UK as can be seen by the jagged nature of the Scottish series in the chart.  However, they show that, on average, since 2008, Scotland is doing better than the UK for employment and inactivity.
