The following links are to the SG web pages of committees / working groups with which Housing Statistics are involved. Papers for, and minutes of, the committees/ groups meetings can be found on these pages.

  • Homeless Statistics User Group ( HSUG)
    (Reports to the ScotStat Built Environment Committee)
    The Homelessness Statistics User Group was concerned with assessing and improving the quality of the homelessness data collected by the Scottish Government Housing Statistics Branch. The group also considered how to promote the availability of homelessness statistics, reviewed the need for information on homelessness and provided feedback on the uses being made of the data which is being collected.
  • Housing Support Statistics Working Group ( HSSWG)
    The aim of the Working Group is to develop a revised statistical data collection on housing support which is of sufficient quality to achieve National Statistics designation. The group includes representatives from: the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA); local authorities; the housing support enabling unit; housing associaitons; housing support providers; the Scottish Housing Best Value Network; and the housing support policy and home care statistics teams within the Scottish Government.
  • Right to Buy Sales Working Group ( RTBSWG)
    (Reports to the ScotStat Built Environment Committee)
    The Right to Buy Sales Working Group discussed the mechanisms for obtaining/collating and storing RTB sales information for analysis in the future. The group also considered what information should be obtained about each sale of a socially rented property to a sitting tenant and how best to publish and disseminate the information between partners.
  • Household Analyses Review Group ( HARG)
    (Reports to the ScotStat Built Environment Committee)
    The Household Analyses Review Group was concerned with the household estimates and projections produced by the General Register Office for Scotland. The purpose of the group was to assist the General Register Office for Scotland to maintain relevant good quality official household estimates and projections, and to provide users with sound advice on the basis of household estimates and projections and their use.
  • Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey Group ( SVDLS)
    (Reports to the ScotStat Built Environment Committee)
    The working group exists to provide a forum for discussion on the operational issues that arise from running the survey and the dissemination of results. Meeting papers are available to view here.
  • Homelessness Electronic Data Capture Project Board ( EDC)
    The purpose of the project board was to oversee the development and implementation of an electronic system to record, report and analyse information about each application to local authorities for assistance under the homelessness legislation. The work of this group is now complete since implementation of the new system took place in December 2001. A new committee concerned with using the data will shortly be set up.
