USER SURVEY 23 May - 18 June
The Scottish Government Environment Statistics team sought the views of users to inform potential reductions to its Environment Statistics outputs.
Following this consultation the decision was made to stop making updates to the Scottish Environment Statistics Online database and the associated publication Key Scottish Environment Statistics as of 30 September 2017. Further details are available in the consultation paper, which includes the survey questions, and a report summarising the findings of the survey.
In 2015, the Scottish Government Environment Statistics team designed a online survey to gain user feedback on the use of Scottish Environment Statistics Online (SESO) and Key Scottish Environment Statistics (KSES), as well as proposed changes to be made to both publications. The survey ran for the three week period between 29/07/2015 and 19/08/2015 and received 6 responses.
A short note summarising the findings can be found here. It is important to note that it is difficult to make generalisations about the use of SESO and KSES based on the low response rate; however, the responses generally reflect those raised by the Natural Environment Statistics Advisory Committee.
The Natural Environment Statistics Advisory Committee was also a partner in a recent Sharing Good Practice event organised by Scottish Natural Heritage on 'Delivering the Open Data Strategy for Scotland's Environment'. Copies of the presentations and the event report can be found here.
