List of Tables

Commodity Balances, 1998-2015

  • 3.1 Supply and use of crude oil, natural gas liquids and feedstocks (tonnes) 1998-2015
  • 3.2 Supply and use of petroleum products (tonnes) 1998-2015
  • 4.1 Supply and Consumption of natural gas (GWh) 1998-2015

Trade in Oil & Gas, 2000-2015

  • 5.1 Foreign and UK Trade in Oil and Gas (£million) 2000-2015

The annual commodity balance tables (in tonnes or GWh) for Oil, Gas and Petroleum Products are consistent with similar tables published by BEIS in DUKES and Energy Trends.

The values (£million) for imports and exports of primary oils and natural gas are derived from the volumes reported in the commodity balances. Users are advised not to simply combine these results with other (onshore) trade statistics for Scotland from ESS or QNAS, as doing so will not give an accurate estimate of total imports or exports for Scotland. Further adjustments to the trade figures are required to account for operating and capital expenditure by oil and gas companies. Please contact us for more information.

The Annual Commodity Balances are also the source for updated energy balance tables (in TOE) published in Energy In Scotland 2017 on 23 February 2017 (next update: February 2018).
