Police Strength

As at 31 March 2018, there were 17,170 full-time equivalent (FTE) police officers in Scotland. This is an increase of 936 police officers from the position at 31 March 2007 (+5.8 per cent). Police officer numbers have decreased by 86 FTE officers (-5.8 per cent), in the last quarter and last year since 31 December 2017 and 31 March 2017 respectively.
