Police Strength

As at 31 March 2015, there were 17,295 full-time equivalent (FTE) police officers in Scotland.  This is an increase of 1,061 police officers from the position at 31 March 2007 (+6.5 per cent). Police officer numbers have increased by 41 FTE officers in the last quarter since 31 December 2014 (+0.2 per cent), and increased by 51 FTE officers in the last year since 31 March 2014 (+0.3 per cent).
