Local Authority Social Work Services (LASWS) Staffing Group

LOCAL AUTHORITY SOCIAL WORK SERVICES (LASWS) STAFFING GROUP

Background

The LASWS Staffing Group aims to ensure effective communication between Scottish Local Authorities, the Scottish Government and Inspectorates who have in interest in the collection of, or monitoring of, statistical staffing information from local authority social work services departments.

The primary role of the LASWS Staffing Group is to discuss and agree any proposed changes to existing data specifications or the setting up of new data collections, and to discuss issues that are relevant to the gathering of social work data.

This group replaced the Social Work Statistical Liaison Group (SWSLG) Social Work Services Subgroup in May 2008.

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has now taken over the responsibility for conducting the annual staffing census. June 2011 was the last meeting hosted by the Scottish Government. Future meetings will be arranged by the SSSC.
