Children's Social Work Statistics Scotland, 2014-15

  • At 31 July 2015, there were 15,404 looked after children – a decrease of one per cent from 2014.
  • In Scotland in 2015, 3.0 children in every 1,000 children under 16 were on the child protection register.
  • There was an average of 82 residents in secure care accommodation throughout 2014-15, an increase of 11 per cent on the previous year.
