ScotStat Committees/Groups

The Agriculture Committee will consider and define the key information required from good quality agricultural statistics for policy and research purposes, ensuring that the burden on data providers is minimised whilst meeting statutory requirements and ensuring data collected is fit for purpose.

Other Stakeholder Engagement

RESAS published an online consultation on 8th March 2018 seeking user views on the additional data tables which are published online each year by RESAS using data from the Farm Business Survey (FBS). Respondents were asked whether they used these additional outputs, what they used them for and if there is anything else they would find useful to be included in these outputs.

A report of the results from the consultation and the questions asked was published online on 5th June 2018.


On 29th July 2013 the Agriculture Statistics Unit held it's first user conference (replacing the annual ScotStat Committee meetings for 2012 and 2013).  Presentations from the event are available at our conference page.  Poster graphics presented a the conference are avilable at our graphical summaries page.

Conferences, committees and consultations are not the only way to share your views.  The Agriculture Statistics Unit is interested in hearing user's views, comments and questions at any time.  Contact details are available from our contacts page.


SEERAD published a consultation document on 30 November 2006 seeking views on proposed changes to headline farm income measures. Similar consultations were conducted in England & Wales and Northern Ireland.
