The Agriculture Committee will consider and define the key information required from good quality agricultural statistics for policy and research purposes, ensuring that the burden on data providers is minimised whilst meeting statutory requirements and ensuring data collected is fit for purpose.

On 29th July 2013 the Agriculture Statistics Unit held it's first user conference (replacing the annual ScotStat Committee meetings for 2012 and 2013). SEERAD published a consultation document on 30 November 2006 seeking views on proposed changes to headline farm income measures. Similar consultations were conducted in England & Wales and Northern Ireland.
