The Strategic Analysis Team, which is part of the Office of Chief Statistician and Strategic Analysis Division, works with policy makers and analysts across the Government to provide and co-ordinate evidence to support strategic policy development in the Scottish Government, with specific responsibility for External Affairs Constitution.
The team has three branches covering a wide range of topics.

The work of the team includes primary and secondary analysis; academic engagement and knowledge exchange on strategic themes (including demography; public attitudes and behaviours); research commissioning and management; support for spending review; performance reporting (N.B.I) and bespoke analysis and briefing.
The team also manages the Scottish Government core module in the Scottish Social Attitudes Survey.
