System Review Group

One strand of the improvement programme is a review of the formal child protection system; in particular looking at the role and function of Child Protection Committees, the use of Child Protection Registers and case conferences, and Initial and Significant Case Reviews.

Scottish Ministers asked Catherine Dyer, former Crown Agent and Chief Executive of the Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service, to take up the role of independent Chair of the review. The review will make recommendations to Ministers by the end of the year. The review is being informed by the knowledge and expertise of our stakeholders.
