The Communities and families fund was launched on 22 May 2012. This programme aims to help families and communities give children the best possible start in life and support families and communities to take early action and deliver projects which will help children reach their full potential.
Over the three years of the fund (2012/13 – 2014/15) the Scottish Government and the Big Lottery are investing £6 million in the Communities and Families Fund to provide funding to local projects which help families and communities to improve the quality of life for children through greater access to early learning, play and child and maternal health support.
The Communities and Families Fund supports projects that meet one or more of the following programme outcomes:
- Improve the quality of life of children (pre-birth to 8) through greater access to early learning, play and child and maternal health support
- Enable communities to shape and deliver support for families
Organisations throughout Scotland can apply for funding of between £250 to £10,000.
