Business Development Support

Business Development Support for Enterprising Third Sector Organisations

The Scottish Government is supporting the growth and increased economic contribution of the enterprising third sector through the delivery of programmes aimed at building the capacity and sustainability of the sector.

In July 2011 the Scottish Government launched the Just Enterprise programme to deliver development support to the enterprising third sector across Scotland (including equalities-led organisations).  This practical programme is tailored to provide both start up and established organisations with the most appropriate support.

Just Enterprise provides support in four key areas.  Organisations and social entrepreneurs are encouraged to register here:

Just Enterprise is a key part of the pipeline of business support provided by the Scottish Government through:

  • local third sector interfaces – the interfaces are recognised by local community planning partnerships as representing third sector organisations in that area - details of all interfaces can be found here
  • Business Gateway – the agency provides practical help, advice and support for new and growing businesses in Scotland
  • Scottish Enterprise – the agency works with ambitious companies and industries to support business growth and develop Scotland's business environment
  • Highlands and Islands Enterprise – the agency works closely with ambitious businesses and social enterprises which have the potential to grow.
