Consultation Events

Scottish Government Consultation events:

We are running a number of external stakeholder events during March and May to support the consultation, a number of which will be led by the Minister for Europe and International Development and the rest by the Scottish Government's International Development Team. These are aimed at capturing the thoughts, suggestions and responses of individuals, organisations, NGOs, academics, and diaspora groups, over and above the formal responses we receive to the Consultation.

NGOs/civil society organisations are invited to attend one/both of these events in Edinburgh, with eventbrite booking link given:

We are running a number of events where we are seeking views from specific sectors:

  • Third sector: events on 2 March and 23 March, with booking links given above.

  • The academic sector: have been invited to an event in Glasgow on 9 March, at which we are particularly interested to hear from them as to how we can better capture and support the wealth of academic and research expertise in Scotland in future, and improve engagement between our international development programme and Scotland’s academic expertise. Please contact the team if you are in academia, have not received an invitation to this event, and would like to attend: intdevptconsultation@gov.scot

  • The public sector: (NHS Boards, local authorities, NDPBs, Police Scotland etc) are invited to an event in Perth on 15 March, at which we are particularly interested to hear from them as to how we can better support peer-peer knowledge sharing between institutions on key areas of mutual interest, to support capacity strengthening. Please contact the team if you work for a public body, have not received an invitation to this event, and would like to attend: intdevptconsultation@gov.scot

  • The private sector: have been invited to an event in Glasgow on 16 March, at which we are particularly interested to hear from them as to how our International Development programmes and projects can better link with the private sector in Scotland in order to maximise expertise as we enter in to the implementation phase of the new UN Global Goals.  Please contact the team if you work in the private sector, have not received an invitation to this event, and would like to attend: intdevptconsultation@gov.scot

  • Scotland’s Diaspora communities: have been invited to an event in Glasgow on 22 March, at which we are particularly interested to hear their views as to whether diaspora links add value to our international development programme, and if so whether there are ways we could use our diaspora links to greater value. Please contact the team if you are a member of a diaspora community, have not received an invitation to this event, and would like to attend: intdevptconsultation@gov.scot
