Fostering a Culture of Innovation in Scotland

Scotland’s Economic Strategy recognises that innovation is a fundamental driver of long-term competitiveness and sustainable growth. This is strongly aligned to the ambitions articulated in the European Commission’s Innovation Union which aims to create the condition that will enable our research to be turned into new and better services and products in order to remain competitive in the global marketplace and improve the quality of life in Europe. There is much that Scotland can contribute to the successful delivery of the Innovation Union for the benefit of the people of Scotland and Europe.
