Pilot Areas

The following integration authorities are undertaking pilots to test implementation of different provisions in the Carers Act:

9 Aberdeenshire Local carer strategy

These pilots will run between April and October 2017, although these dates may be extended in some areas. These pilots will be monitored and evaluated, and learning will be shared, including through the guidance on the Act.

In addition, four additional pilot areas will be working on the hospital discharge provision of the Act:

  • Aberdeen;
  • Argyll & Bute
  • Dumfries & Galloway
  • West Dunbartonshire

These pilots will report back after a period of approximately six months and again these outcomes of these will be shared across Scotland.
