The Scottish Government brings together voluntary organisations at regular networking events to share information on project development, promoting wider learning and improved ways of working. This provides the opportunity to work together to buid capacity to deliver good quality services, share and engage with policy development activities such as the development of a national training framework.
The Network met on January 20, 2017 and the discussion included challenges with implementing a personal outcomes approach, sustainability challenges and successes and networking with wider issues which may be of interest to survivors and organisations supporting them.
The second meeting of the Network was on May 3, 2017 in Edinburgh. The main focus of the meeting was around the 2017/18 round of the Innovation and Development Fund and the application process. Inspiring Scotland gave a presentation on the application process and held a workshop in the afternoon regarding funding applications in general. Trevor Owen, Scottish Government and Joanna McLaughlin, National Violence Against Women Partnership (VAWP) Co-ordinator at the Improvement Service gave an update on Equally Safe and VAWP National Network.
The next Network meeting will take place at some point after Summer.
