The Expert Group was established by the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport to take forward the recommendations set out in the Interim Report of the Independent Review of transvaginal mesh implants.
The Interim Report of the Independent Review of Transvaginal Mesh Implants was published on October 2, 2015. It includes evaluation of both the efficacy and the extent and causes of adverse incidents and complication rates associated with surgery for stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse:
The Expert Group is chaired by Mr Terry O’Kelly, Scottish Government Senior Medical Officer and Consultant Colorectal surgeon in NHS Grampian.
