Mental Health (Scotland) Act 2015 - Implementation Reference Group

The Implementation Reference Group has been set up so that the views of a wide range of stakeholders are reflected in the implementation of the 2015 Act. Group members are providing views and information on:

  • Development of policy on specific issues, for example named persons, and in relation to development of secondary legislation (including transitional and savings provisions)
  • Understanding of the practical impacts of legislative provisions and policy decisions (both in relation to the impact on service users and the service and cost implications) to assist with implementation planning
  • Development of impact assessments - Equalities Impact Assessments, Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment, Privacy Impact Assessment and Children's Rights Impact Assessment
  • Likely training and guidance needs for practitioners and the most useful role of Scottish Government in this
  • The most effective way to communicate the changes brought in by the 2015 Act to practitioners, delivery organisations and others
