Governance

The new Programme Management structure will consist of an Unscheduled Care Programme Board that will act as the sponsoring group responsible for overall delivery of the programme objectives. The Unscheduled Care Advisory Group, which will sit under the Programme Board, will oversee the individual projects relating to the key themes in the National Unscheduled Care Action Plan and will consider improvements and innovations across NHSScotland. A series of Project/Short Life Working Groups (SLWG) will report to the Advisory Group and will be responsible, for example, for delivering outcomes by assessing best practice evidence and developing new models of care.

The Unscheduled Care Programme Board will undertake a strategic review of the future of Unscheduled Care in NHSScotland to identify priorities for action and to make formal recommendations to bring about improvements to the quality of Unscheduled Care.

The Unscheduled Care Advisory Group will provide a strategic overview of the components of Unscheduled Care in NHSScotland to monitor and manage priorities for action and to make formal recommendations to bring about improvements to the quality of Unscheduled Care.
