National Information and Intelligence Framework for Health and Social Care for Scotland

The National Information and Intelligence Framework will support organisations working in Health and Social Care to effectively and appropriately prioritise the development of information and intelligence:

The Framework has been developed and agreed by the major organisations and stakeholders across the Scottish Health and Social Care system and represents a substantial step-forward in work to ensure that information and intelligence is developed and used in a co-ordinated and coherent manner across Scotland.

The Framework prioritises work in four key areas - each of which will now be progressed by cross organisational Action Groups. These areas are:

  • Prioritisation of national data and information collections
  • Presentation of evidence for maximum impact
  • Efficient development and maintenance of the information evidence base
  • Maximise access to and use of intelligence and evidence

The Action Groups will report progress to the Quality Measurement Action Group and will therefore be nested within the wider Quality Strategy and delivery of the 2020 Vision:
