Welcome On Board - Board Induction Workshop

The Public Bodies Unit/ Public Appointments Team has developed a Board Induction workshop  in partnership with newly appointed Board members.

The aim of the workshop is to enhance the induction process undertaken at Board level and offer new Board members the opportunity to meet with their peers. The workshop highlights expectations of Scottish Ministers for members of public body Boards, shares information on Scottish Government expectations and ways of working, and offers the opportunity for new Board members to form a peer network.

A workshop took place on 4 September 2017. This workshop was well received with 28 Board members from across a variety of public bodies valuing input from the Minister for Parliamentary Business, the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland and Audit Scotland.

These workshops are run three times a year, which ensures that every newly appointed board member has the opportunity to participate within 6 months of their appointment start date.

Future Workshops

The next workshop will take place on 2 November 2017.

Further workshops will take place in 2018 (dates yet to be confirmed). These workshops are open to Ministerial appointed Board members who have recently commenced their appointment.
