Local Authority Investments

Scottish Ministers, in exercise of their powers under section 40 of the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003 have made regulations (The Local Government Investments (Scotland) Regulations 2010) which permit local authorities to make investments subject to them gaining the consent of Scottish Ministers. The Regulations came into force on 1 April 2010.

Finance Circular 5/2010 provides the consent of Scottish Ministers and sets out the requirements attached to the consent when local authorities make investments.
