Sustainable Procurement Duty

The sustainable procurement duty, section 9 of Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014, exemplifies the Scottish Model of Procurement, and places sustainable and socially responsible purchasing at the heart of the process.

To facilitate progress in sustainable procurement, the National Performance Framework is at the heart of the process, this is the single framework to which all public services in Scotland are aligned.

Supporting the National Performance Framework, the National Outcomes seek to reduce the local and global environmental impact of our consumption and production; to value and enjoy our built and natural environment and protect it and enhance it for future generations; to have strong, resilient and supportive communities where people take responsibility for their own actions and how they affect others

The tools created to support the Sustainable Procurement Duty, are directly linked to the National Outcomes.
