Scottish Land Rights and Responsibilities Statement

The Scottish Government published a statement on land rights and responsibilities and will review this every 5 years.  The statement contains a set of principles on land rights and responsibilities, to ensure that the full public benefits from land in Scotland are realised.

A consultation on the proposed statement closed on 10 March 2017 with analysis of the responses published in September.  A report on the consultation can be read here. There is a duty on Scottish Ministers to take the statement in to account when exercising their functions to help promote the principles of the statement from 1 October 2017.
