National Training Programmes
This includes participating in a National Training Programme (NTP) where a young person may be a trainee and in receipt of a training allowance, or an employee receiving a wage. NTPs are delivered by Skills development Scotland (SDS) and include:
- Modern Apprenticeships - apprentices are employed and undertaking an S/NVQ at levels 2-5 following an approved Modern Apprenticeship framework.
- Training for Work (TfW) - training programme for adults who have been unemployed for 3 months or more. It provides vocational training in a range of occupational sectors to help people back into sustained employment.
- Get Ready for Work (GRfW) - targeted at young people who, without tailored work based support, are unable to make the transition to sustained employment opportunities.
