Post-16 Education (Scotland) Act 2013 Commencement Orders

Almost all of the 2013 Act’s provisions are now in force. Changes to the board arrangements of incorporated colleges have come into effect in all regions.

The Post-16 Education (Scotland) Act 2013 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2013, SSI 2013/281 came into force on 10 October 2013. The policy note outlines in detail what the Order does.

The Post-16 Education (Scotland) Act 2013 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2013, SSI 2013/348 came into force on 13 January 2014. The policy note outlines in detail what the Order does.

The Post-16 Education (Scotland) Act 2013 (Commencement No. 3 and Transitory and Savings Provisions) Order 2014, SSI 2014/21 came into force on 3 March 2014. The policy note outlines in detail what the Order does.

The Post-16 Education (Scotland) Act 2013 (Commencement No. 4 and Transitory Provisions) Order 2014, SSI 2014/79 came into force in part on 1 May 2014. The remaining part will come into force on 1 August 2014. The policy note outlines in detail what the Order does (and when). Among other things, it established the Regional Board for Glasgow Colleges on 1 May 2014.

The Post-16 Education (Scotland) Act 2013 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2014, SSI 2014/144 came into force on 1 August 2014. As the policy note outlines, it brought into force the provision that made the University of the Highlands and Islands a regional strategic body.
